St George’s, University of London has launched its first Centre of Excellence – the Centre for Neonatal and Paediatric Infections (CNPI). The Centre has a vision for the group to be an internationally recognised and global leader of Paediatric and Perinatal Infectious Diseases Research. The Centre has developed over the past 10 years conducting international research, forming collaborations with other Institutions in the UK and multiple global partners, attracting talented researchers to expand its scope; and growing considerably to consist of 70 team members from diverse healthcare and related professions working on multiple studies. The PIDRG now includes a research portfolio comprising a variety of projects and studies in pregnant women and children, with a focus on the epidemiology and treatment of vaccine-preventable diseases, maternal and new-born infection, maternal and neonatal immunity to infectious diseases in both high and low / middle income settings, vaccine trials, global antibiotic resistance, optimal prescribing and infection prevention and control.
In celebration of the launch of the CNPI, we are inviting you to join us for an introduction to the teams collaborating in the CNPI and find out about our upcoming and recent research.
The event will include:
- An introduction from Professor Jon Friedland.
- Panel Discussion on the vision for the Centre for Neonatal and Paediatric Infection from the lead Principal Investigators
The Launch event will be hosted in the Curve Lecture Theatre at St George’s, University of London and online for those who would like to attend the conference virtually.
